How Would Your Favourite Chevron Pattern and Your Child's Drawing Go Together on a Custom Rug?
Let us say you have a child's drawing that you find cool, but are not sure how to ideally display it + a favourite pattern, for example chevron.
Would you like to see how you can combine both to create the most amazing custom rug, only for you?
Here are some of our layout ideas. Of course, these would change completely with other artwork, colour, pattern, rug shape and size choices.
(Make sure you see design #2, where the chevron zig zag lines define the texture with higher and lower piles. It's one of our favourites!)
All our visualizations are in handknotted technique, using wool and a knot count of 150 knots per square inch. Other materials that you could choose from are Chinese and bamboo silk, viscose, nettle, linen, hemp or recycled plastic bottle yarn for indoor-outdoor or all weather rugs.
Design Idea #1
The chevron background is in soft grey and white and the child's artwork maintains its original colours. The drawing's elements are pushed closer together to create a square rug.
Design Idea #2
Here the child's artwork's colours are changed to blue shades, following the same chevron pattern as the background, which is in white and soft pink. You will see that the pink zig zag lines, along with the child's design, have a higher pile. What do you think of this texture?
Design Idea #3
Black and white is always a very modern edgy option. While such a strong contrast may not be for everyone, it shows how much you can do with only two colours.
Design Idea #4
Let us keep the black and white chevron background for a moment and show how elegant and almost translucent the child's drawing could be in grey tones.
Design Idea #5
Why is it that yellow and blue always seems to go so well together? We love how clean, fresh and warm this feels.
